Hot Peel vs Cold Peel
-
Hot peel DTF film is peeled shortly after pressing to speed up production.
-
Cold peel DTF film is peeled after cooling for more controlled release, often preferred for intricate designs.
Choose Hot Peel when: you need speed and throughput.
Choose Cold Peel when: you want slower, controlled peeling on detailed artwork.
Key Performance Points of Hot/Cold Peel DTF Films
-
Clean release: Designed for reliable peel behavior (hot or cold, depending on film)
-
Ink control: Helps reduce ink bleed for crisp lines and readable small text
-
Transfer consistency: Stable roll format for long runs and fewer roll changes
-
Workflow fit: Supports roll-fed and roll-to-roll DTF production
Wholesale & Bulk DTF Film Rolls
DTF Film Rolls (Hot & Cold Peel) are built for high-volume print shops and contract decorators running daily production.
Bulk Production Benefits
-
328 ft roll length reduces changeovers
-
24" width supports gang sheets and large layouts
-
Stable feed for roll-to-roll DTF systems
-
Compatible with all DTF inks and powders
-
Hot Peel: Faster turnaround for bulk school, team, and corporate jobs
-
Cold Peel: Controlled release for detailed artwork and fine text
For bulk buyers, choosing the correct width and peel type improves throughput, reduces waste, and supports consistent large-scale DTF production.
How to Use DTF Film Rolls (Hot/Cold Peel)
1) Load the film: Load the roll so the printable (matte/coated) side faces up.
2) Print: Print using your DTF ink profile and white underbase as required.
3) Powder + cure: Apply adhesive powder evenly, remove excess, then cure until powder is fully melted and smooth.
4) Heat press: Press using your garment + powder + film requirements.
5) Peel:
-
Hot peel: peel shortly after pressing (per film behavior).
-
Cold peel: let cool completely, then peel.
Recommended Heat Press Starting Range
Use your film and powder specs first. As a starting point for many workflows:
-
Cotton / cotton blends: ~300–320°F, medium pressure, 8–10s
-
Polyester: ~280°F, medium pressure, 10–15s
Always test one garment first.
Storage of DTF Films
Store DTF film rolls sealed, upright, and away from heat, humidity, and dust to prevent curl, static issues, and surface contamination.
